Green skills and jobs are essential for fostering a sustainable and resource-efficient society. This event will examine the green jobs landscape and in-demand green skills. Our speakers include a labor economist and a green jobs recruiter.  Following our panel discussion, participants will engage in an interactive workshop on “Cultivating Green Skills in a Green Economy ” to spark the development of a personalized roadmap to use in their green jobs journey.  Green job seekers and entrepreneurs will gain valuable insights from this engaging session.

Speakers

Rachel Sederberg, Ph.D., Senior Economist and Research Manager, Global Talent, Lightcast Professional Services

Rachel Sederberg is a Ph.D. Labor Economist and academic researcher with publications in peer-reviewed journals such as Economics Letters, The Russell Sage Foundation Journal of the Social Sciences, and the Journal of Consumer Affairs. She is an author, researcher, and speaker specializing in the impact of emerging technologies, with a focus on green jobs, automation, and the current and future state of the labor market. Rachel serves as an advisor to top companies, providing expertise on talent strategy, skills-based hiring, and related issues.

She is formerly a Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, ME, and currently holds the position of Adjunct Faculty in Economics at Stonehill College in North Easton, MA. Her insights have been featured in media outlets such as CNN, The New York Times, Axios, NPR’s On Point, CNBC, USA Today, INC, Wired, Fortune, Barron’s, and The Business Journals.

Matthew Cohen, Partner and Energy/Sustainability and HVAC/R Practice Leader, Direct Recruiters

Matthew Cohen is a Partner at Direct Recruiters and has been the Leader of DRI’s Cleantech & Sustainability Practice for the past 12 years. Moderator: Jennifer Seifert, Leaders in Energy Green Jobs Committee and Founder, Pumpkins for Pigs Foundation

As our panel moderator, Jennifer will set a common language and share the latest green jobs trends to ground our conversation.  Jennifer Seifert is an accomplished global transformation leader who helps organizations leverage data and technology to achieve measurable business outcomes, improve operational performance, and sustain thriving work environments. She brings energy, passion, and change management to sustainability. As the founder of Pumpkins For Pigs Foundation, she’s made it her mission to enable communities across North America to reduce food waste.

Manon Doran is deeply motivated to rebuild our connection to nature. She is a proud supporter of small, local, and regenerative businesses. Her climate actions are both local and global.
