Working Group Meeting – The Circular Economy

July 8 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm UTC-5
  • This event has passed.

The Circular Economy Working Group seeks to emulate nature by closing the loop of resource use and recycling, where nothing is wasted and everything serves a purpose!

Join us for our Circular Economy Working Group meetings which are held on the 4th Wednesday of every month.  The DC Circular Economy Working Group meets under Leaders in Energy and consists of individuals in the public, private, governmental, and non-profit sector who are interested in learning about circular economy issues and in creating a more circular economy in the DMV Region.

Note:  While we are all engaging in physical distancing, it behooves us to continue the work of building the circular economy here in the DC region. As we move towards healing, rebuilding and recovering from this crisis it is critical that we do so in a way that embraces circular economic principles, replenishing natural systems and human communities, while implementing innovative strategies to solve climate change.

Topic: Composting at Work and Home

This is the first event in our Working Circular happy hour series, which is designed to leave you with tangible tools to implement circular economy practices at work. We’ll be joined by Matthew Krupp of the Sierra Club, who will present on the DMV Commercial Composting Guide, as well as Brenda Platt from the Institute for Local Self Reliance to speak about home composting.  Register here and receive a zoom link the week of the event: https://forms.gle/a4o9zrUBAXVEXz2g9

You can RSVP here for our meetings and join the Circular Economy Google Group to be notified of the location and receive other updates for this group’s activities.
