Samir Chowdhury

Originating from Bangladesh, a country ridden by climate disaster, the terrifying normalcy of floods swallowing nearby farmlands and smog smothering his brethren spurred him to found Youth Climate Action Team Inc, a global 501(c)4 climate justice advocacy nonprofit composed of 1,500+ youth organizers in 22 countries driving and amplifying intersectional activism. YCAT Inc has collaborated with the Environmental Protection Agency, United Nations Environment Programme, White House, and more.

His activism has led him to advise EPA Administrator Michael Regan and work alongside UNEP Executive Director Inger Andersen; lecture on empathy models of social change at the Harvard Institute of Politics, Stanford School of Medicine, and global climate events; and be featured in The Stanford Daily, The Teen Magazine, and Kids Inspire Difference. In the future, Samir hopes to wield his past experiences in social impact, management, and climate to make a positive impact in the world by using entrepreneurship and policy as creative avenues for better planetary outcomes.
