DESCRIPTION:  \nResilient Virginia invites you to register for the 2019 Resilient Virginia Conference\, which takes place on July 18–19 at the Darden School of Business\, University of Virginia\, Charlottesville\, Virginia. \nThis year’s theme\, Connecting Rural and Urban Communities for a Resilient Future\, highlights the roles of Virginia’s rural and urban communities in addressing challenges they face from increased disruption by extreme weather events\, climate change\, national security risks\, and on-going concerns related to economics and community health. \nThe 2019 Resilient Virginia Conference brings together participants from state and local governments\, local and national businesses\, and representatives from higher education and community organizations to learn about a diverse array of resiliency topics\, including: \n\nresilient building and infrastructure design\,\nreducing emissions from the transportation sector\,\nresiliency in mitigation and emergency management planning\,\nhealth and equity concerns\,\neconomic opportunities\, and\nthe role of ecosystems and agricultural practices in mitigation.\n\nWe are pleased to highlight Janine Finnell\, Executive Director of Leaders in Energy\, and her initiatives in the Circular Economy area\, in the morning breakout session of the Economic Initiatives to Boost Resiliency Track on July 18. She will be joined by Brandi Williams\, speaking on the Charlotte\, North Carolina Circular Economy Plan\, and by Darden Professor Mike Lenox\, speaking on the Battan Institute’s new Policy Playbook that identifies six actions needed on the national and state level to catalyze clean-tech innovation. \nHere are options \n$30 for students \n$175 if people register as “individuals” rather than businesses ($300) \nOne day options – starting July 1 – $80 for July 18; $60 for July 19 \nJoin your public and private sector colleagues at the forefront of resiliency planning and implementation in the Commonwealth.
